About the area

Historical Merimbula

The Merimbula Wharf was built in the mid 1800′s and successfully operated until 1952. The old wharf was demolished in the 1970′s. Have lunch at one of the many cafes facing Merimbula’s Lake before spending a relaxing afternoon shopping or fishing off the bridge.

Discover Merimbula

Do yourself a favour and go for a morning walk to Bar Beach. When you get there you will find the most amazing little cafe/shed/van to stop for coffee or soup and where you can take in the incredible ocean views. If you feel like a walk along the beach try the walk around fish pen and mitches jetty. If you continue walking along the beach you will end up at Pambula Beach. Somedays you are lucky enough to walk the entire length of the beach without seeing a soul. If the beach isn’t your thing or you have a stroller, try the board walk which runs around Merimbula’s Top Lake.
